Aaron N. High

Aaron N. High, 89, of 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata, formerly of White Oak Road, New Holland, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Fairmount Homes.

Born in West Earl Twp. he was the son of the late Elmer and Mary (Nolt) High. His wife, Anna M. (Horst) High, died Nov. 11, 2006.

Aaron was a farmer and operated his own machine shop. He was a member of Weaverland Mennonite Church of the Weaverland Conference and volunteered with his wife at Christian Aid Ministries from about 1994 to 2004.

Surviving is a son, James, married to Grace (Martin) High of Leola; seven daughters, Edna Mae, married to Norman High, Jr. of New Holland, Grace, married to Curvin Martin of Ephrata, Naomi, married to Raymond K. Burkholder of Thailand, Lorraine, married to Clair L. Hurst of Kirkwood, Sarah, married to James K. Nolt of Ephrata, Margaret, married to Jacob Wise of Womelsdorf, and Erma Ruth, married to Lynford Rutt of Newmanstown; 50 grandchildren; 101 great grandchildren; a brother, Ivan High of Pine Grove; and six sisters, Mary Hoover of Reinholds, Lydia Sensenig of Terre Hill, Ada Long of Ephrata, Esther, married to Irwin Nolt of Ephrata, Vera Zimmerman of New Holland, and Laura Martin of Ephrata; and two sisters-in-law, Mary High of Ephrata, and Nora High of Honey Grove.

Preceding him in death are four brothers, Melvin, Edwin, Elmer and John High; and a sister, Emma Reiff.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25 at 9 am at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel, 1100 Farm Crest Drive, Ephrata, with further services at 9:30 am at Weaverland Mennonite Church with the Bishop Amos G. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at Fairmount Homes Farm Crest Chapel on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers.
