Aaron Z. Horst

Aaron Z. Horst, 68, of Denver, PA, passed away on March 17, 2025, at WellSpan York Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Aaron was born in East Earl, PA, to his late parents, John Z. and Emma M. (Zeiset) Horst. He was married to Loretta (Metzler) Horst, who survives at home.

Aaron was a skilled contractor, building many homes for those in the community. He was a member of Kenhorst Mennonite Church and worked with the building committee. He enjoyed spending time with his family whom he cherished deeply.

In addition to his wife, Aaron is survived by his children, Karen Martin and her husband Anthony, of Nappanee, IN, Sheila Rutt and her husband Daniel, of Reading, PA, Kristina Zimmerman and her husband Jon, of Mohnton, PA, and Bethanne Good and her husband Cloyd, of Denver, PA. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and his siblings, Esther Zimmerman, Mahlon Horst, Irvin Horst, Lucy Hoover, Laura Horst, John Horst, Jr., Emma Horst, David Horst, Mary Ann Martin and Anna Mae Martin.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Road, Ephrata, PA. Viewings will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM and 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Lichty’s Mennonite Church, 1690 North Churchtown Road, East Earl, PA, and on Saturday morning, one hour prior to the funeral at Martindale Mennonite Church. Interment will follow the funeral at Lichty’s Mennonite Church, East Earl, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to the Kenhorst Mennonite Church Building Fund, 22 Kenhorst Blvd, Reading, PA 19607.
