Alan S. Foss

Alan S. Foss, 84, of 1 Lilac Ct., New Holland, PA, died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015 at his home. His wife, Patricia A. (McGinty) Foss, survives. They would have been married 41 years on Aug. 27.

Born in Keene, NH, he was the son of the late Stanley W. and Ruby (Snow) Foss.

He graduated from the Barre (VT) High School and the former Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute.

During the Korean Conflict, he served in the Navy as an Engineman Second Class.

Alan worked Textile Machine Works and then was an Industrial Arts teacher from 1968-1992. He was a member of LST 1081 Association, the American Legion, and the Reading Camping Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was especially close to Pat, Ruth and Sue.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley W. Fox.

A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church, 218 Valley St., Port Carbon with Monsignor William Handges as celebrant.
