Alberta E. "Bertie" Weaver

Alberta E. “Bertie” Weaver, 95, formerly of New Holland and Gaines, died Friday, March 27, 2026, at Fairmount Homes. Her husband of 75 years, Harold R. “Jack” Weaver, survives.

Born in Quarryville, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Elizabeth (Book) Eckman.

Bertie was a homemaker who also enjoyed playing cards, cooking, baking, and doing puzzles.

She was a member of Pine Creek United Methodist Church and a former member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Quarryville for 50 years. She had also been active in the New Holland Area Women’s Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline married to Bruce Klaassen, Gaines, three grandchildren: Elizabeth A. married to Josh Landis, Zachary P. married to Melissa Klaassen, Jacob W. married to Angie Klaassen, five great grandsons, one great granddaughter, and a niece Patricia Eckman.

She was preceded in death by a brother Carl Eckman and a niece Judy Greer.

A private burial will be held at Mechanic Grove Mennonite Cemetery.
