Alberta Pauline Ingham

Alberta Pauline Ingham, 85, of Mt. Hope Nazarene Retirement Community, Manheim, Pennsylvania, was enthusiastically welcomed by her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her cherished husband, John Arthur Ingham, Sr., into her eternal, supernatural home in Heaven on January 29, 2018. Alberta was born on September 7, 1932 to Albert and Thelma Preston, in Philadelphia, where she grew up, the oldest of five children. At the age of 11, she memorized 300 Bible verses, which won her a week at Camp Sankanac. During that week, she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and her life changed. She met John Arthur Ingham, Sr., four years later, and they were married on February 3, 1951. Her husband, John, transitioned to Heaven on November 17, 2017. Alberta is survived by her sister, Martha Moore, her (and John’s) three children: Patricia Anne Adams of Akron, John Arthur Ingham, Jr. of Darby, married to Barbara (Bonnet) Ingham and Linda Susan Ingham of Gordonville. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Alberta was a devoted homemaker, an avid sewer, knitter, cook, baker, crossing guard, hostess, Sunday School teacher, prayer warrior, choir member and soloist with a beautiful soprano voice and a singer in the Billy Graham Crusade Choir. Because of her own life story, God gave Alberta a heart for hurting people and it drove her ministry at Colwyn Baptist Church in Colwyn, the Helping Hand Mission in Philadelphia and the City Gate Mission in Coatesville where she and John were house parents and she was the head cook and a Bible teacher. Alberta held to a deep faith and trust in her Savior as evidenced by her contentment and peaceful smile. This Saturday, February 3, is John and Alberta’s 67th wedding anniversary, so at 11:00 a.m. that morning, all are welcome to attend a Memorial Service to celebrate Alberta’s life and their God-honoring marriage at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main Street, New Holland, PA 17557, with the Rev. Art Remington officiating. In lieu of flowers, John and Alberta desired financial gifts to be given, in Alberta’s honor, to Life Awakening, P.O. Box 136, New Holland, PA 17557.
