Alice M. Haas

Alice M. “Dolly” Haas, 89, of Honey Brook, formerly of Morgantown, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Tel Hai Retirement Community after a lengthy illness.

Born in Voganville she was the daughter of the late James H. and Bertha (Ream) Sweigart. She was the widow of Harry L. Martin in 1969, Benjamin Retallack in 1994, and Russell L. Haas in 2011.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Honey Brook United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music and playing the piano, cooking, baking, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are six children, Robert, married to Bonnie (Shurr) Martin of Bowmansville, Dennis, married to Eva (Hacker) Martin of Birdsboro, Larry, married to Josephine (Hagerty) Martin of Muhlenberg, Sharon, married to Terry Hartman of Elverson, Jeffrey, married to Marcia (Blake) Martin of Greer, SC, and Brian, married to Joanne (Heath) Martin of New Holland; 18 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and a sister Phyllis Kveragas of Lititz.

Preceding her in death is a daughter, Audrey Deihm; a brother, Robert Sweigart; and a sister, Edith Getz.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 9 at 10:30 am at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill with the Reverend Coleen Painter officiating. Interment will be in the Caernarvon Cemetery in Morgantown. Viewing will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 – 10:30 am.
