Alice M. Shumate

Alice M. Shumate, 62, of Gap, died Friday, February 19, 2016 at Lancaster General Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in White Horse, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Jennie (Huyett) Kinsey. Her husband, Ronald Lee Shumate, died Sept. 21, 2013.

Alice was a 1972 graduate of Pequea Valley High School. She was employed as a Pharmacy Clerk and enjoyed reading, sewing, and spending time with her pets, Shadow and Buddy.

Surviving are three children, Lisa, married to Tim Wilson of Mohnton, Clay Mattson of Bowmansville, and Tina, married to William McFalls, III of New Providence; five grandchildren, Alexis, Zachary, Iona, Roxanne, and Tyler; one sister, Ruth Sensenig of Ephrata; and four brothers, William, married to Evelyn Kinsey of New Holland, Robert Kinsey of Gap, Alan, married to Jodi Kinsey of Gap, and John, married to Dawn Kinsey of Gap.
