Allen H. Martin

Allen H. Martin, 84, of 1944 Kramer Mill Rd., Denver, died Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the home of his daughter Minerva. His wife, Katie (Burkholder) Martin preceded him in death in 2006.


Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Menno and Elizabeth (Hoover) Martin.


He was a farmer and a member of the Muddy Creek Mennonite Church.


Surviving are six children: Melvin (Norene) Martin, Leola, Irvin (Lucy) Martin, Versailles, MO, Anna (Erwin) Newswanger, Denver, Allen (Ellen) Martin, Stanley, NY, Minerva (Leroy) Hoover, Denver, Irene (Wilmer) Zimmerman, Stanley, NY, 43 grandchildren, 135 great-grandchildren, three siblings: Anna (Rueben) Ringler, Denver, Noah Martin, New Holland, Aaron (Dorothy) Martin, Denver.


He was preceded in death by four grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, and 10 siblings: Benjamin, Harry, David, Menno, Daniel, Amos, Adam Martin, Hettie Ann Burkholder, Katie Burkholder, and Elizabeth Zimmerman.


His funeral will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. at his late home with further services at 9 a.m. at Muddy Creek Mennonite Church with Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at his late home on Thursday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
