Allen Leinbach Zimmerman

Allen L. Zimmerman, 86, of East Earl, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024 in his residence.

Born on November 2, 1937 in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Isaac W. and Katie M. (Leinbach) Zimmerman.

He was the husband of the late Suzie Z. (Weaver) Zimmerman, with whom he married on November 12, 1959 and shared 34 years of marriage until her passing on February 21,1993.

He was a member of Bowmansville Old Order Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference) and was a farmer and enjoyed carpenters work for many years.

Allen is survived by his 12 children, Vera (Amos) Hurst of Shippensburg, PA, Samuel (Lorene) Zimmerman of Dundee, NY, Elva (Earl) Hoover of Shelby, OH, Susan (Melvin) Hoover of Penn Yan, NY, Allen (Ellen) Zimmerman of Owen, WI, Arlene (Leonard) Newswanger of Morgantown, PA, Warren (Lois) Zimmerman of Owen, WI, Mary Zimmerman of Narvon, PA, Rhoda (Mervin) Shirk of East Earl, PA, Lamar (Grace) Zimmerman of Owen, WI, Miriam (Laverne) Weaver of Narvon, PA and Loretta (David) Zimmerman of Narvon, PA. Also surviving are 67 grandchildren; son in law Earl Horning of Owen, WI; 4 brothers, Irvin (Mabel) Zimmerman of Versailles, MO, Phares (Ada) Zimmerman of Millmont, PA, Rueben (Emma) Zimmerman of Barnett, MO and Jason (Ada Mae) Zimmerman of East Earl, PA and 2 sisters, Lucinda (Allen) Newswanger of New Holland, PA and Leah Martin of Shiloh, OH.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Elvin Zimmerman; daughters, Ellen Horning and Esther Mae Zimmerman, 3 grandsons, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter and siblings, Amzie Zimmerman, Fannie Shirk, John I. Zimmerman and Christian Zimmerman.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Bowmansville Old Order

Mennonite Church, Oaklyn Drive, Narvon, PA 17555 with Bishop Leon Zimmerman officiating. A Viewing will be held at the home of Rhoda and Mervin Shirk, 473 Brown Road, Narvon PA 17555 on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery.
