Almeda W. Zimmerman Nolt, 64, of New Holland, PA, passed away peacefully under Hospice care on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Fairmount Homes. She was born in Lancaster County, on June 23, 1959, to Ammon M. Zimmerman of New Holland, and the late Elva Ruth (Wise) Zimmerman.
She was the wife of Paul M. Nolt with whom she celebrated 42 years of marriage at the time of her passing.
Almeda was a member of Blue Ball Mennonite Church (Mid-Atlantic Fellowship).
She enjoyed scrapbooking, her five grandchildren, and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by four children, Lynell Kay wife of John David (JD) Nissley, of Ephrata, Nathaniel Ryan of Chatsworth, CA, Andrew Jordan, husband of Gwenda R. (Sensenig) Nolt, of Reading, Jethro Scott, husband of Natalie E. (Spoonhour) Nolt of Greenville SC. 5 grandchildren: Hailey, Liam, and Lexi Nissley and Zane and Miles Nolt and 8 siblings: Edith Zimmerman of New Holland, Allen husband of Vera B. (Zimmerman) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Melvin husband of Linda Z. (Martin) Zimmerman of Ephrata, Ray husband of Mary E. (Nolt) Zimmerman of Denver, Ammon husband of Rhoda Z. (Martin) of Blue Ball, Elsie (Zimmerman) wife of Neil Z. Martin of Manheim, Carl husband of Ruth B. (Zimmerman) Zimmerman of New Holland and Rosene Zimmerman of New Holland.
Her funeral service will take place at Blue Ball Mennonite Church, 143 Ewell Rd, East Earl PA 17519 on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 10 a.m. with Bishops Michael Zimmerman and Joel Martin, Elmer Zimmerman, Stephen Horst, and Arnold Martin officiating. There will be a viewing at the church on Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorial contributions may be sent to Fairmount Homes Benevolent Fund, 333 Wheat Ridge Dr., Ephrata, PA 17522.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the caregivers at Fairmount Homes for their helpful and compassionate care given to Almeda in the past 5 weeks. Also, a special thanks to Heartland Hospice. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements.
