Amos H. Hoover, 59, of 522 Wentzel Rd., East Earl, died Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital. His wife, Grace H. (Martin) Hoover, survives.
Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late Amos and Lydia (Nolt) Hoover.
Amos was a farmer and a member of Black Creek Mennonite Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 11 children: Charlene M. Hoover, at home, Leon M. Hoover, Denver, Jane married to Amos Hoover, East Earl, Martha married to Andrew Martin, Denver, Chester married to Katie Hoover, East Earl, Rachel M. Hoover, Denver, Wilson M. Hoover, at home, Marian M. Hoover, Denver, Mahlon M. Hoover, Eli M. Hoover, Grace M. Hoover, all at home; seven grandchildren; 15 siblings: Alma Hoover, KY, Ada Reiff, New Holland, Emma Martin, Ephrata, Mary Hoover, East Earl, Martha Hoover, KY, Isaac Hoover, New Holland, James Hoover, Ephrata, Jonas Hoover, New Holland, John Hoover, KY, Paul Hoover, Stevens, Lydia Hoover, Linda Hoover, Leon Hoover, Lloyd Hoover, Lester Hoover, all of New Holland, and a sister-in-law Lucy Hoover, KY.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Malinda Hoover and a brother, Daniel Hoover.
His funeral will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 12 Noon at his late home with further services at 1 p.m. at Reidenbach Mennonite Church with Bishop Nathan Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at his late home on Thursday from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. Kindly omit flowers. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
