Andrea Barbara Gilliland

Andrea "Cookie" Gilliland, 77, of Myerstown, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at Lancaster General Hospital after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Shenandoah, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (née Litwinchuk) Andrews. Cookie graduated from Garden Spot High School, class of 1965, and later went into the service industry. For many years she worked at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre as a waitress. During her down time, you could find her shopping or playing Bingo. She had a love of traveling to Ocean City, Maryland and New York City. In recent years, she enjoyed spending time with friends at the Myerstown Senior Community Center. Friends and family who knew her would describe her as a firecracker.

Preceding her in death are a daughter, Tammy McFarland; a son, Michael Andrews; and her husband, John Gilliland.

She is survived by a son, Ray McFarland, husband of Charnelle; a daughter, Brandi Gilliland; five siblings: Robert Andrews; Barbara Moss, wife of Philip; Karen Stoeckl, wife of Karl; Andy Andrews, husband of Debra; Rick Andrews, husband of Audrey; two grandchildren, and 11 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Cookie’s funeral service at Groff-High-Eckenroth Funeral Home in New Holland on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Holland.
