Anna Mae Brookmyer

Anna Mae (Shepler) Brookmyer, 96, a longtime resident of Sunset Avenue in Blue Ball, died Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Messiah Village in Mechanicsburg, Pa. For 60 years she was the loving wife of Russell Brookmyer, who preceded her in death in 2012.

Born in Blue Ball, she was the daughter of the late Austin E. and Susan (Johnston) Shepler.

Anna Mae was a graduate of New Holland High School and was employed at Frank Ix & Sons. She was an avid gardener and loved to collect anything to do with strawberries. After retirement, Anna Mae and Russell remained active going ballroom and disco dancing. She was also a life-long member of St. Stephen’s Reformed Church of New Holland.

She is survived by her son, Bryon, husband of Heather Brookmyer, of Mechanicsburg, and her two grandchildren, Ian and Emily Brookmyer.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 11 a.m.at Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland with Rev. Dr. Timothy Witmer officiating. Interment will be in Kimmerlings Cemetery, 1 Saint Jacobs Dr., Lebanon, PA. A viewing will be held at Beck’s on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. Online condolences may be posted at www.beckfuneral.com.
