Anna Mary Horst

Anna Mary Horst, 89, of Ephrata, formerly of East Earl, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at Fairmount Homes.

Born in Earl Twp., she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Martin) Esbenshade. She was married 70 years on January 18 to David S. Horst.

Anna Mary was a homemaker most of her life but she also worked for 16 years at Shady Maple Farm Market in the produce department, and as a waitress in the New Holland area for many years.

She was a member of Lichty’s Mennonite Church where she served as a Sunday school teach and in the sewing circle. She also enjoyed collecting antique dishes and glassware, quilting and needlework, and going to the mountains with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Elaine, married to Glenn Newswanger of Myerstown, Sharon, married to Henry Zimmerman of Narvon, David, married to Sharon (Adams) Horst of Honey Grove, Darlene, married to Edwin Ringler of East Earl, and Linda, married to Don Weaver of New Holland; a daughter-in-law, Linda (Martin Horst), married to Clarence Fasnacht of Leola, and a sister, Margaret Wyble of New Holland.

Preceding her in death is a son, Clifford Horst; a granddaughter, Heidi Weaver; five sisters, Velma Weaver, Viola Buch, Bertha Martin, Alice Horst, and Helen Esbenshade; and a step brother, Aaron Esbenshade.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 25 at 10 am at Fairmount Homes Wheat Ridge Chapel, 333 Wheat Ridge Drive, Ephrata. Interment will be in Weaverland Mennonite Cemetery.
