Arlene F. Kurtz

Arlene F. Kurtz, 80, of East Earl, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on August 4, 2025, at home. Arlene was born in Blue Ball, to her late parents, Clair and Marion (Usner) Hartranft. Her beloved husband, Jerry D. Kurtz, survives at home.

Arlene was a loving and caring woman. She loved her family dearly, especially her children and grandchildren. She made sure that everyone in her family felt special. This was evident by her vacations in North East, Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay at their family cabin. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, spending time with her dogs, and listening to music, especially Elvis. She was a faithful member of Bridgeville EC Church, where she taught Sunday school and VBS, and was the church treasurer. Her caring nature was even apparent in the gallons of blood she donated to the local blood bank.

In addition to her husband at home, Arlene is survived by her children, Karen Schnader and her husband Richard, of East Earl, Russell Weatherholtz and his wife Elizabeth, of Baltimore, MD, and Barbra Horst and her husband Dwane, of New Holland. She is also survived by six grandchildren and her siblings, Anna Cashwiler, of Narvon, PA, Terry Hartranft and his wife LuAnne, of Narvon, PA, and Jane Edwards and her husband Mike, also of Narvon.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Bridgeville EC Church, 5971 Division Hwy, Narvon, PA, beginning at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Bruce Hill officiating. A viewing will be held beginning at 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will occur in the adjoining church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601, or, https://www.hospiceandcommunitycare.org/in-honor-in-memory-gifts/.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
