Arlene E. Myers

Arlene E. Myers, 91, of 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, formerly of Intercourse, died Monday December 26 at Garden Spot Village. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Myers, on July 8, 2005. Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Mervin and Esther (Hoober) Kling. Following her graduation from the former New Holland High School, Arlene attended Lancaster General Hospital Nursing School, graduating in 1942. She was a nurse for Dr. Bauer of Intercourse; at the former Elizabethtown Crippled Children’s Hospital; and in the maternity unit at Lancaster General Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Zeltenreich Reformed Church. Her hobbies included traveling, playing cards and crafts. Surviving are two daughters: Sandra married to William Asimos, Galloway, NJ and Diana married to Clayton Renshaw, Intercourse; three grandchildren: Billy, Jaime, and Adam; and six great grandchildren: Josh, Hannah, Ben, Zachary, Emily and Evan. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11 AM at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland with Reverend Stephen Arrick officiating. Interment will be in Zeltenreich Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service. Kindly omit flowers.
