Arlene W. Martin

Arlene W. Martin, formerly of Terre Hill, PA, passed from this life at Landis Homes on September 13, 2025. She was 100 years old. Born in Brecknock Township, she was the daughter of Monroe H. Good and Katie Witwer Good. On June 7, 1947, she married G. Earl Martin who passed on December 10, 2007, after 60 years of marriage. She was a member of Pine Grove Church, Bowmansville, PA. After graduating from Terre Hill High School in 1943, she worked in several secretarial jobs.

In 1954 she joined her husband in his plastering company, G. Earl Martin, Inc. as his secretary. In her earlier years, she taught many children’s and ladies’ Bible classes. She also enjoyed games, particularly Scrabble. She was “Grammy” to 16 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren (with two more expected), and 5 great, great grandchildren. Preceding her in death besides her parents and husband was her sister Mildred, wife of the late Enos Hess; two brothers Leon Good (and his wife Pearl) and Monroe Good, and a great grandson, Josiah Martin.

Surviving are four sons: Larry Martin (Lena Stoltzfus), Lonnie Martin (Marion Hess), Loren Martin (Beth Bucher), and Ladd Martin (Sharon Buckwalter); two daughters: Linda (James) Kreider and Lisa (Jonathan) Frank; two brothers: Richard Good (Irene Hurst), Clair Good, (the late Pauline Weinhold Good) and sister-in-law, Miriam Good.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Pine Grove Church, 1194 Reading Road, Bowmansville, PA, with pastors Jonathan Yoder, Steve Kornbau, and Isaac Martin officiating. Visitation begins at 6:15 PM until the time of the service. Interment will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
