Arthur L. Moyer

Arthur L. Moyer, Jr., 73, of Leola, died Saturday, December 15, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Nanticoke, he was a son of the late Arthur L., Sr. and Ruth (Peters) Moyer. He was married 52 years on October 1 to Eileen (Richards) Moyer.

Arthur graduated from the former Williamsport Technical Institute and worked for 50 years, retiring in 2015, from CNH in New Holland. His first 40 years he worked as a tool designer and the last 10 years as a tour guide.

Arthur attended Leola United Methodist Church, was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Nanticoke, and was an Eagle Scout. He enjoyed canoeing down the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, hunting, golfing and traveling. He has been to 49 of the 50 states as well as cruising the Ryne River. He enjoyed taking his family camping every year in a tent and a motorhome along with going to see his grandchildren play sports. He was also a Penn State football fan and enjoyed coaching the girls youth softball team in Leola for his daughters.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Jodi, married to Sonny Stauffer of Lancaster, and Jill, married to Jason Schnader of Lancaster; six grandchildren, Alison, Zack, Brady, Brett, Julia, and Dylan; two uncles, Paul and Franklin Peters; two aunts, Ethel Fine and Minnie Peters; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21 at 10:30 am at Leola United Methodist Church, 7 W. Main St., Leola. Interment will be in the Zeltenreich Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 6-8 pm at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and Friday from 9:30 – 10:30 am at the Church.
