Audrey E. (Hanright) Cedar, 87, of East Earl, PA, peacefully went home to be with The Lord on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her home.


Born March 4, 1926 in Nova Scotia, Canada she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jeannetta Hanright. She is preceded in death by her husband William N. Cedar and sister Bernice Soleau.


Mrs. Cedar was a homemaker and military wife who faithfully served The Lord. She taught children and adult Sunday school classes and sang in the choir at several churches she attended. She was also well known in her community for participating in charitable walk-a-thons and the food bank. Mrs. Cedar also enjoyed traveling with family and crocheting.


Mrs. Cedar is survived by a daughter, Audrey M., married to Eric Buchanan of East Earl, PA; a son, Richard H., married to P. Lynne (Trant) Beyer of Conway, SC; a granddaughter, Julie M. (Dilbeck), married to Adam Payne, and great grandchildren of Canton, GA; a brother, David Hanright of Green Pond, NJ, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family also wishes to acknowledge the caregivers whom were very involved in Mrs Cedars’ care over the last 5 years; Martha Martin, Cheryl Welch, and Judy Wright. We thank each of you for your love and care.


The family wishes to inform friends and relatives that a celebration service will be held at a later date, tba, at New Providence Church of God, 269 Cinder Rd., New Providence, PA. Final resting place will be with her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
