Barbara H. Hess

Barbara H. Hess, 71, of Mohnton, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy after a lengthy illness.

Born in Bernville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Helen (Keller) Stamm. Her husband, John R. Hess, Sr., died in 1990.

Barbara worked for 26 years as a Home Health Aid for Berks Visiting Nurses.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Bowmansville and she enjoyed collecting Longaberger Baskets and fishing.

Surviving are four children, Rickey, married to Robin Batz, Cindy Weinhold, Ernest, Jr., married to Audrey Batz, and Randy, married to Cheryl Batz; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and 3 brothers, Jerry and Bruce Stamm, and William Fehr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 28 at 10 am at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill. Interment will be in the Bowmansville Union Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 2-4 pm and on Monday from 9-10 am at the Funeral Home.
