Barbara S. Martin

Barbara S. Martin, 90, of 1248 Sheep Hill Road, East Earl, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at her home.

Born in East Earl Twp., she was the daughter of the late Phares M. and Ada (Shirk) Horst. Her husband, Ivan Z. Martin, died Oct. 23, 2010.

Barbara was a homemaker and a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Surviving are five sons, four daughters, and two daughters-in-law, Harvey H., married to Ruth (Leinbach) Martin of East Earl, Aaron H., married to Verna (Shirk) Martin of Lewisburg, Ivan H., married to Mary Kathryn (Nolt) Martin of New Holland, Louella, married to Nelson Martin of New Holland, Mary H., married to Raymond Nolt of New Holland, Eva H., married to Reuben Zimmerman of Shippensburg, Grace Martin of Saskatchewan, Canada, Esther H., married to John Henry Weaver of Penn Yan, NY, Lawrence H., married to Ruth (Mack) Martin of Paraguay, South America, Ervin H., married to Eva (Martin) Martin, and Ruth Ann, married to David Horst of Narvon; 69 grandchildren; 191 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Emma Martin and Minnie Rissler of Stevens.

Preceding her in death are two sons, Norman H. and Alvin H. Martin; two grandchildren, Cheryl Martin and Joshua Martin; three great grandchildren; and a brother, Henry S. Horst.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 21 at 9 AM at the late home with further services at 9:30 AM at Weaverland Mennonite Church with the Bishop Titus Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the late home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill.
