Barbara (Knapp) Zenker, beloved wife, loving and very loved mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on April 14, 2026 at the age of 98.

Barbara was born on September 13, 1927 in Bryn Mawr, PA. She was the second of three children born to Alfred and Dorothy Knapp. Barbara grew up in Narberth, PA, and graduated from Lower Merion High School, class of 1945.

She married her high school sweetheart, Alexander Zenker Jr., in December 1947. They celebrated almost 62 years of marriage prior to Alex’s death in 2009. After many years living in the Valley Forge area, Barbara and Alex moved to Garden Spot Village in New Holland.

Barbara loved people, especially mentoring and ministering to younger women. She was often asked to speak at various Christian Women’s organizations and lead home Bible studies. In recent years, Barabra has been a member of the Community Church at Garden Spot Village in New Holland, where she was involved in prayer ministry.

Barabra is survived by a daughter, Susie Beadling, wife of John Beadling of Peachtree City, GA, two sons, Alexander (Andy) of Coatesville, and Scott, husband of Diane of North Wales, PA, grandchildren, Betsie, Amie and Erik, great grandchildren, Aaron and Anna, step granddaughter, Yvonne, step great grandchildren, Mike and Jennifer and step great great granddaughter, Mae.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Nancy and Peter.

A Celebration of Barbara’s life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Garden Spot Village Chapel, 433 S Kinzer Avenue, New Holland PA 17557. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
