Bertha F. Martin Mast, 90, of Fairmount Homes (formerly 219 Mill Road, Morgantown, Pa.), died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016, at Fairmount Homes, Ephrata, Pa.
Her late husband was Horace M. Mast who died three years ago on August 26, 2013.
Bertha was born March 9, 1926, at Beartown, Lancaster County, Pa., to Christian Hess and Elizabeth Snader (Felpel) Martin. She grew up in Akron, Pa.
A member of Conestoga Mennonite Church, Morgantown, Pa., she was an active member of the Sewing Circle and treasurer of her Sunday School class for many years.
Bertha worked at Moyers Garment Factory, Ephrata; Dutch Maid Garment Factory, Honey Brook; and Graco Manufacturing Company, Elverson.
In 1969 when Horace started Mast Builders, she did all the bookwork. Together, they collected 600+ carnival glass pieces and enjoyed traveling. She was also well-known for her love of quilting.
Bertha is survived by three children: J. Lemar married Lois Ann (Zook) Mast, Morgantown; Roger D. married Linda (Huyett) Mast, Denver; Sandra E. Good, New Holland; and seven grandchildren: Roger Mast Jr., Kathy Mast McClure, Stephanie Good, Elizabeth Mast Petersheim, Daniel Mast, Leigh Ann Mast, and Lisa Good Pape; and eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Rosie Clugston, Rothsville, Pa., and Sarah Nafziger, Lancaster, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law W. Richard Good, and 12 siblings: Ethel Halligan, William Martin, Theodore Martin, Christian Martin, Henry Martin, George Martin, Elizabeth Coleman, Clarence Martin, Violet Westley, Alvin Martin, Melvin Martin, and Curtis Martin.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Conestoga Mennonite Church, 2779 Main Street, Morgantown, with Pastor Robert Petersheim officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Elverson. A viewing will be held at Conestoga Mennonite Church on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday morning from 10-11 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
