IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Lou
Watson
March 2, 1931 – March 3, 2026
Betty was born and raised in Philadelphia. After graduating high school, she and an adventurous friend moved to Los Angeles, California. There she met Raymond Watson, her future husband, who had made a similar journey to LA from Maine. After marriage and having her son Thomas, they moved back east to be closer to their families. Ray’s work took them to Virginia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Hawaii until they eventually retired in Pennsylvania.
Betty was a homemaker and lived a quiet, modest life. She was a kind and giving person, always willing to help. From being a Cub Scout Den Mother to years of caring for her elder relations, she was there when anyone needed help, and she did it all with warmth and humor. If you were her friend, you were her friend for life. She was a kind and creative soul who loved all creatures great and small. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren Michael and Zebbie, being a big part of their lives, and watching them grow up into fine young adults. Meeting her great grandson Blake last October was the cherry on the cake.
Betty didn’t live a large life, but she made a difference and will be missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
No Services will be held at this time.
Memorial contributions in memory of Betty may be made to the Garden Spot Benevolent Fund, 433 S. Kinzer Ave, New Holland PA 17557.
Groff High Funeral Home in New Holland is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
