Beulah L. Diffenbach

Beulah L. Diffenbach, 86, of Garden Spot Village died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Lancaster General Hospital.

Born in East Lampeter Township, she was the daughter of the late Miles B. and Anna (Groff) Landis and the wife of Abram W. Diffenbach who died in February 2004. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Naomi Diffenbach; a grandson Abram Schneck; a brother, John N. Landis; and a sister Laverna and a brother David who died in infancy.

Surviving are the following children: Abram W. husband of Karen, Lancaster; Rosalee D., wife of James Schneck, Terre Hill; Alan R. , husband of Carol, New Holland; C. Annette, wife of Philip Hertzler, Pamplin, VA; David B., husband of Margaret, Frankford, DE; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a brother Paul G. Landis of Woodcrest Village, Lancaster.

She was a member of Witmer Heights Mennonite Church, Lancaster.

Beulah was artistic, a poet, a lover of nature, an educator and perpetual student, and a Bible and C. S. Lewis scholar.

She was also the originator of women’s retreats in the Lancaster Mennonite Conference, which she helped plan for 25 years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, at 3 PM at Witmer Heights Mennonite Church, 2270 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster with Pastor L. Roy Bender and Marlin Martin officiating. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 1 – 3 PM. Burial will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to M.C.C., P. O.
