Brenda E. Showalter

Brenda E. Showalter, 54, of 535 Westfield Dr., New Holland, died Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital. For 26 years, she was the loving wife of John M. ”Jack” Showalter, who survives.

Born in Ephrata, she was the daughter of Marion L. (Klader) Means married to Kevin J Cummings, Newmanstown, and John “Bill” Means married to Deb (Frank) Means, New Holland.

Brenda was in charge of Customer Service for Equestrian International.

She will be remembered as a selfless person, always looking out for others in her life. She looked forward to summer trips to Ocean City, MD, Penn State Football, and her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, parents and step-parents, she is survived by a daughter, Mellisa Means fiancé of Jacob Houck, New Holland; two granddaughters: Mikayla Mestre, New Holland and Aryanna Houck, New Holland; a brother John E. married to Crystal Means and their daughter Scarlett, New Holland and three step-sisters: Melissa Long, Lancaster; Kimberly Frank, New Holland, and Amanda Means, New Holland.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 11 a.m.at Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland with Pastor Brad Haws officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen Reformed Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Beck’s on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 10-11 a.m. Kindly omit flowers.
