Bruce J. Vickers, 90, of 1168 Elverson Rd., Morgantown, died Saturday, May 18 at his home. His wife of 59 years, Ruth (Williams) Vickers, survives.


Born in Bloomingrose, WV, he was the son of the late Eral and Maude (Miller) Vickers.


Bruce retired from the Army after 23 years of service.


He was a member of Hopewell Christian Fellowship.


He and Ruth had four children: Glenn R. (died Nov. 23, 2009) married to Meg (McCullom) Vickers, Bowmansville; Deborah L. married to Daniel McCalicher, Morgantown; Cynthia C. married to Kenneth Christman, Geigertown; Jeffery B. married to Andrea (Witman) Vickers, Elverson; 11 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two sisters.


In addition to his son, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.


His memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 23 at 11 a.m. at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 2286 Hopewell Rd., Elverson with Pastors John Szymanski and Mark Kraybill officiating. Interment the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10 – 11 a.m. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill is in charge of arrangements.
