Carl B. Gable

Carl B. Gable, 89, of Terre Hill, died Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Neffsville Nursing and Rehabilitation. His wife of 60 years, Glorene L. (Mellinger) Gable, survives.

Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Leo and Mary Gable.

After serving in the Army, Carl worked at Ford New Holland in process development retiring after many years. After retirement, he was involved with Meals on Wheels.

He was a member of Trinity E. C. Church, Terre Hill, Garden Spot Lions Club, and Ephrata Lodge #665, F & AM. An animal lover, he was especially proud of his homing pigeons, and was a member of the Reading Pigeon Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Gregory married to Heidi (Grote) Gable, Stevens, and Eric Gable, New Holland, two granddaughters and a step-granddaughter and a sister, Evelyn Mitchell, Terre Hill.

He was preceded in death by a sister Gerry Putt and a half-brother, Alston Gable.

His funeral will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill with Pastor Neal Martin officiating. Interment will be in Terre Hill Cemetery.
