Carl R. Petersheim, 70, passed away on July 16th, 2024 in Carlisle, PA after a battle with Lymphoma. He was born on September 28th, 1953 and was the son of the late Ivan and Rhoda (Hollinger) Petersheim. Carl graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. Ed Industrial Arts Education – Visual Communications. His skills in Computer Technology took him to Boston, MA to work for Prime Computer. During his years in Boston he sang as a Baritone with Tanglewood Festival Chorus of the Boston Symphony and Boston Pops Orchestra. He also had his own business which was Petersheim Designs. Most recently he was Professor Emeritus of Interactive Web Media at HACC – Central Pennsylvania’s Community College until his retirement. He enjoyed camping and being with his two dogs (Ira and Emma) and had a love for classic cars. Surviving are his two nieces Shannon (Stoltzfus) Hart, wife of Michael Hart and Michelle (Stoltzfus) McGinn wife of Eric McGinn and several grandnieces and a grandnephew who called him “Gruncle Carl”. He also has a brother-in-law Louis Stoltzfus Jr. He is preceded in death by a brother, Jere Petersheim, and a sister Judy (Petersheim) Stoltzfus.
A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 9th at Yoder’s Country Market, 14 South Tower Road in New Holland, PA. Please arrive at 12pm. Interment will be private at the Pine Grove Cemetery Elverson, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carl’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
