Carl S. Weller, 98, of New Holland, died Saturday, April 13, 2024, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Pauline S. (Spitler) Weller, in 2017.
Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Walter and Elsie (Zimmerman) Weller.
Carl left high school to join the Army during World War II. He served with the 101st Airborne Division and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He received the American Theater Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal for his service.
After his service, he returned to Lancaster County and worked for G. Earl Martin as a plasterer and drywaller. Additionally, he and his wife operated a stand at Shupp’s Grove in Adamstown and Carline’s Yarn and Craft Shop in Terre Hill.
Surviving are two daughters: Sharon A. Weller, New Holland and Carol S. Mellinger, Ohio, two granddaughters, one grandson, four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson .
He was the last of his family.
