Carolyn E. Spare

Carolyn (Carrie) Spare of Lancaster and formerly of Leola passed away on February 1, 2017 surrounded by family following a long and courageous battle with multiple types of cancer. Born in Harrisburg, she was the daughter of the late James and Catherine Knipple and married to Todd Spare. They celebrated 53 years together in October.

Carrie retired from her career as a Real Estate Agent 15 years ago. Friends and clients describe her as one of the strongest and most compassionate woman they knew. She spent her retirement years cheering on her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She enjoyed going to the beach every summer and traveling the US.

She is survived by her husband Todd and two daughters Sherry married to Scott Zellers of Quarryville and Patricia married to Rick Beers of Cornwall, VT and by her grandsons, Zach and “J.D.” Zellers.

The family invites friends to join them in a Memorial Gathering at The Eden Resort (Regency Room) on Friday February 3rd from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice & Community Care.
