Catherine I. “Kit” Fisher, 90, of New Holland, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 of natural causes after a brief illness at Masonic Village.
Born in Salunga, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Della (Hubbard) Weidman. Her husband, Charles L. Fisher, Sr., died June 28, 1983.
Kitty was a homemaker most of her life but worked for more than 20 years in the Lampeter-Strasburg High School Cafeteria.
She was a former member of the Willow Street United Church of Christ and a current member of St. Stephen United Church of Christ in New Holland. She loved the Church and was active in many positions at both churches. She was also active in two card clubs, the Farm Woman International and was a member of the Swimming Pool Association in Strasburg in the 1960’s. She volunteered as a Democrat Voting Inspector in Strasburg and she enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, baking, and especially her family.
Surviving are three children, Kitty Merye, married to Donald Herrington of New Holland, Frances, married to William Seiple of New Holland, and Charles L., Jr., married to Donna J. (Cowan) Fisher; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Weidman.
Preceding her in death are two brothers, Donald and Dallas Weidman; and a sister, Clara Kravatz.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 4 pm at St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 249 E. Main St., New Holland, PA 17557. Interment will be at a later date at Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster. Viewing will be held on Saturday, at the Church, from 1-4 pm.
