Catherine Z. Newswanger

Catherine Z. Newswanger, 89, a resident of Heatherwood Retirement Community, passed away on June 18, 2025.

Born in East Earl, she was the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Lydia (Zimmerman) Newswanger.

She was a member of Churchtown Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference). She would often help many members of her family by staying with them and helping in their homes and caring for their children.

Catherine is survived by her brother, Reuben husband of Ella (Zimmerman) Newswanger of Shelby, OH, sister, Lena Nolt of Fleetwood, sister-in-law, Vera Zimmerman of Shiloh, OH and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Wayne husband of Anna (Brubaker) Newswanger, Isaac husband of Rachel (Kulp) Newswanger, Amos husband of SueEtta (Shirk) Newswanger, Samuel Jr. husband of Sarah (Good) Newswanger, Phares Newswanger, David husband of Mary Ann (Kulp) Newswanger, an infant brother and brother-in-law, Samuel Nolt.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 23, 2025 at 9:30 AM at Churchtown Mennonite Church (Groffdale Conference), 2207 Main Street, Narvon PA 17555 with Bishop Marvin Nolt officiating. Viewings will be held on Sunday, June 22, 2025, 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the home of Ivan and Mary Shirk, 2052 Main Street, Narvon PA 17555. Burial in the adjoining church cemetery.
