Cathryn M. Martin, 92, a resident of Fairmount Homes, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026. Her husband, Elam L. Martin, preceded her in death in 2021.
Born in Hinkletown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel H. and Frances S. (Good) Good.
She, along with her husband, owned and operated Twin Valley Furniture for nearly 30 years. She later provided taxi service to the Plain community and worked at Shady Maple and Weaver’s Market. She was a member of Blue Ball Mennonite Church.
She enjoyed tending her large vegetable and flower garden, spending time at mountain cabins, putting puzzles together, and collecting swan planters. She was known for being a selfless person, giving out of her own need and showing hospitality to all.
She loved her family deeply and was concerned for everyone’s well-being. Her greatest desire was that all her family join her in heaven.
Surviving are six sons, Kenneth married to Esther Kurtz Martin of Denver, Karl married to Dolores Musser Martin of Bowmansville, Elam Jr. married to Irene Good Martin of Stevens, LeRoy married to Anna Martin Martin of Ephrata, Ivan Ray married to Anna Mary Musser Martin of Bowmansville, and George married to Jodie Weaver Martin of Port Royal; three daughters, Anna Frances of Denver, Arlene Faye married to Randy Fox of Denver, and Mary Suzanne married to Jeffrey Musser of Terre Hill; a Fresh-Air daughter, Michelle Sampson of NY; 32 grandchildren, 90 great grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. Also four siblings: Eva married to Frank Burkholder, John Good, Vera McEllhenney, Esther married to Edwin Martin and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Martin.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Wesley Martin and two sisters, Anna Mary Hurst and Lydia Martin.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fairmount Homes for the wonderful care they provided to Cathryn.
