Charles Ray Messner, 64, of Denver, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy.
He was the husband of the late Beverly Jean Heck Messner who died in 2011. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Roy R. and Catharine S. Burkholder Messner.
Charles was employed for 40 years at Terre Hill Concrete and had worked up until his illness. He was a graduate of Garden Spot High School and a member of Refuge Calvary Chapel in New Holland. He enjoyed spending time on the home farm, classic cars, hiking, camping, and eating ice cream. However, the happiest times in Charles’ life was when he was spending time with his family. Charles was a man of steadfast faith in Jesus Christ. He lived out his faith through his work and devotion to his family and the church.
Surviving are eight children, Heather Robison of Lititz, Mark Messner of Denver, Daniel husband of Emily Messner of Narvon, Angela wife of Nathan Fogie of Narvon, Matthew Messner of Ephrata, Catharine wife of Raymond Honigmann of Myerstown, Luke Messner of Denver, and Michaiah wife of Owen Collins of Reinholds; six grandchildren, Nevaeh, Naomi, Phoenix, Lana, Atlas, and Miles; and five siblings, Ruth Ann wife of Lester Martin of Ephrata, Janet wife of the late Larry Yoder of New Holland, Nelson husband of Dora Messner of East Earl, Mary Jane wife of Terry Schaeffer of Narvon, and Lamar husband of Katrina Messner of Denver. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Harold.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 23, at 11:00 A.M. at Refuge Calvary Chapel with Pastor Marc Hamer officiating. Interment in Center Union Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, PA and on Thursday at Refuge Calvary Chapel from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
