Charles Horning "Junie" Sauder

Charles Horning “Junie” Sauder, 88, died Monday, February 16, 2026, at Fairmount Homes. He is survived by his wife, Mary H. (Horst) Sauder. They would have been married 70 years in April.

Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Charles E. and Eva (Horning) Sauder.

Charles was the founder of C. H. Sauder Trucking, East Earl.

He was a member of Goodville Mennonite Church and Echo Valley Camp in Slate Run. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing card games with family, and being with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children: Clifford L. (Anna Mae) Sauder, Dawn L. (Jose) Sevilla, Bruce L. (Wanda) Sauder, Bonnie L. (Dwayne) Martin, Tanya L. (Shane) Esbenshade, Travis L. (Carolyn) Sauder, 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and six siblings: Harry (Anna) Sauder, Lois (Mike) Zehr, Nancy Esbenshade, Eunice (Marvin) Eastman, Leon (Keri) Sauder and Elvin (Marilyn) Sauder.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel Sevilla and four siblings: Edwin Sauder, Minerva Bowman, Eugene Sauder, Elaine Risser.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Goodville Mennonite Church, 1556 Main St., Goodville. Burial will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fairmount Homes Wheat Ridge Chapel and on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, is in charge of arrangements.
