Charlotte M. Reeser

Charlotte M. Reeser, 87, of New Holland, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center after a lengthy illness.

Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Ivan H., Sr. and Florence (Heuyard) Stone. Her husband, Harold “Skip” Reeser, died in 1991.

Charlotte worked for a time at West End Cleaners in New Holland as a presser and later as a Seamstress for New Holland Lingerie. She was a member of Pilgrim Bible Church and she enjoyed nature, walking, birds, and cats, but mostly she enjoyed children and her family.

Surviving is a daughter, Beverly, married to John Houck of New Holland; two grandsons, Shawn, married to Holli Rathman of Keedysville, MD, and Seth, married to Jessica Rathman of Lititz; two great grandchildren, Cullen and Emme Rathman; a brother, Kenneth M. Stone of New Holland; and six sisters, Marian Miller of New Holland, Kathryn Frey of Denver, Mary Byers of New Holland, Mabel Weaver of Lititz, Hazel Spence of Mt. Joy, and Constance Adams of Blue Ball.

Preceding her in death are two brothers, Ralph and Ivan Stone; and two sisters, Evelyn Weaver, and Janet Stover.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31 at 10 am at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland. Interment will be in the Zeltenreich Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Monday at the Funeral Home from 9-10 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Hwy. East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
