Clair S. Eberly

Clair S. Eberly, 86, resident of Garden Spot Village, passed away early Friday morning, April 12, 2024. He was the loving husband of Arlene Beam Eberly, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.

Born in New Holland, PA, he was the son of the late Melvin N. and Celestine Sauder Eberly. Clair spent most of his career in the poultry business, retiring from Farmers Pride/Bell & Evans as manager of their live poultry division.

He was a long-time faithful member of Groffdale Mennonite Church, and in recent years attended Christian Fellowship Church.

Clair trusted in Jesus Christ for salvation and served God in various capacities. He raised his children to know and live for the Lord. Clair had many interests, such as hobby farming, gardening, collecting Conestoga wagons, and spending time at his hunting cabin. He loved making chicken BBQ to bless large groups of people and had a special fondness for ice cream.

Surviving besides his wife are four children, Donna wife of Timothy Horst, Leola, Gerald husband of Betty Jean Hertzler Eberly, East Earl, Gary husband of Laura Trent Eberly, Coatesville, and Joanne wife of Matthew Weber, Ephrata; 14 grandchildren,16 great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Ann wife of Carl Gingrich, New Holland, and predeceased by a brother, Eugene husband of Thelma Eberly.

A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 21, at 2:30 P.M. at Garden Spot Village chapel with visitation beginning at 1:30 pm. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be posted at www.grofffeckenroth.com.
