Clarence H. Burkholder

Clarence H. Burkholder, 69, of 410 E. Farmersville Road, New Holland, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Ephrata Hospital.

He was the husband of Margaret N. Zimmerman Burkholder. Born in New Holland, he was the son of the late John D. and Kathryn Hoover Burkholder.

Clarence was a farmer most of his life and at the time of his death was employed by Shady Lane Wagons. He was a member of the Groffdale Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Surviving besides his wife are nine children, Larry husband of Florence Martin Burkholder of Ionia, IA, Karen wife of E. Ray Zimmerman of Ephrata, PA, Marian wife of Luke Ray Zimmerman of Penn Yan, NY, C. Eugene husband of Miriam Newswanger Burkholder of Ionia, IA, Susan wife of Melvin Zimmerman of Leola, PA, Margaret Ann wife of Gary Eby of New Holland, PA, Ivan Ray husband of Janette Zimmerman Burkholder of Ionia, IA, Dale husband of Darla Zeiset Burkholder of Charles City, IA, and Mary Jane wife of Aaron Horning of New Holland, PA; 48 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren; and seven brothers and sisters, Irene wife of Adin Weaver of Lewisburg, PA, Martha wife of Reuben Zimmerman of Owen, WI, Harvey husband of Ellen Burkholder of Stevens, PA, John D. husband of Rachel Burkholder of Leola, PA, Ervin Burkholder of New Holland, PA, Eva wife of Aaron Martin of Penn Yan, NY, and Alta wife of John Newswanger of Stanley, NY.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the home of Aaron and Mary Jane Horning, 412 E. Farmersville Road, New Holland, at 9:00 A.M. with further services at 9:30 A.M. at the Groffdale Mennonite Church with Bishop Ammon Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. A viewing will be held at the Horning residence on Friday from 2 – 4 P.M. and 6 – 8 P.M., Kindly omit flowers.
