Clarence H. Mccoog

Clarence H. “Larry” McCoog, of Elverson, died on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Reading Hospital & Medical Center. His wife of 41 years, Barbara A. (Matichak) McCoog, survives.


Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Clarence and Alice (Dollard) McCoog.


Larry graduated from LaSalle College in 1974 with a degree in Health Physics. He worked in the nuclear industry for many years and then was employed by Vanguard Investments, retiring at the age of 73.


He attended Morgantown Community Church and was very involved in volunteer activities in his later years.


His Christian walk was of upmost importance to him.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Claire Filon, Manayunk.


He was preceded in death by a sister Alice Smith.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 2 p.m. Morgantown Community Church. Light refreshments will be served following the service. Private interment will be held later at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. If desired, memorials may be made to Morgantown Community Church, 4221 Main St Elverson, PA 19520-9301. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland, is in charge of arrangements.
