Clarence E. Rutt, 70, of New Holland, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy after a lengthy illness.
Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Jacob N. and Lizzie S. (Groff) Rutt. He was married 50 years on March 16 to Irene (Hahn) Rutt.
Clarence retired in 2012 from Conestoga Wood Specialties as a tool grinder after 45 years.
He was a member of the Weaverland Mennonite Church, Weaverland Conference.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Elsa Mae, married to Dale S. Martin of New Holland, and Dawn, married to Vernon Musser of Narvon; seven grandchildren, Shari Beth, married to Dana Shaum, Allison Martin, Travis, Joseph, Gary, Heidi, and Anna Marie Musser; and eight brothers and sisters, Mervin G., married to Anna Mary (Weaver) Rutt of Mt. Joy, John Jacob, married to Esther (Zimmerman) Rutt of Farmersville, Elmer G., married to Ruth (Martin) Rutt of New Holland, Lewis Lavern, married to Ruth (Newswanger) Rutt of Mt. Joy, Mary Lou, wife of the late Lloyd Nolt of East Earl, Raymond G., married to Marilyn (Martin) Rutt of Lititz, Anna Frances, married to Dale Nissley of Middletown, and Curvin G., married to Arlene (Nolt) Rutt of Lititz.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 16 at 9 am at the Martindale Fellowship Center, 352 Martindale Road, Ephrata with further services at 9:30 am at the Weaverland Mennonite Church with the Bishop Amos G. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Martindale Fellowship Center. Kindly omit flowers.
