Clarence S. Sensenig, 92, of Ephrata, died Monday, March 11, 2013 after a brief illness at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Aaron and Mary (Sensenig) Sensenig. He would have been married 72 years on March 29 to Miriam (Wanner) Sensenig.
Clarence worked as a tractor mechanic for M.M. Weaver and Son in Groffdale and later for Weaver’s Fix it Shop until his retirement in 1993.
Clarence was a member of the Martindale Mennonite Church and volunteered at Christian Aid Ministries. He enjoyed going to auctions, gardening, and collecting toy tractors.
Surviving in addition to his wife are eight children, Judy, married to H. Lamar Sensenig of Leola, Glenn, married to Susan (Weaver) Sensenig of Ephrata, Miriam, married to Homer Nolt of New Holland, Dorothy, married to Roy Reiff of Stevens, Joyce, married to Earl Eby of Reading, Geraldine, married to David Shirk of Martinsburg, PA, Clarence Sensenig, Jr. of Denver, and Barry, married to Debra (Futer) Sensenig of Terre Hill; 31 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Erwin, married to Mabel (Zimmerman) Sensenig of Stevens, and Keller, married to Roseine (Good) Sensenig of Ephrata.
Preceding him in death is a daughter, Arlene Martin; a granddaughter, Marsha Eby; three brothers, Lester, Aaron, and Miles Sensenig; and a sister, Mary Witmer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 18 at 10 am at Martindale Mennonite Church, 171 Hurst Road, Ephrata with retired Bishop Earl Sensenig, Luke Weaver, and Wendell Nolt officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Church on Sunday from 6-9 pm and on Monday from 9-10 am.
