Clarence W Martin

Clarence W. Martin, 82, of New Holland, died Thursday, December 7, 2023, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. He was married for 59 years to Mary Jane (Good) Martin.

Clarence was born in Lititz, the son of the late Weaver B. and Mary Z. (Weaver) Martin.

He was a very ambitious worker. He was employed by Chester Burkholder Builders, then drove truck for Burkholder Quarries for four years and then became a paver operator for 36 years for Burkholder Paving and New Enterprise.

Clarence always enjoyed the out of doors, hunting deer, bear, elk, and other game. He also enjoyed woodworking and making wooden toys.

He is also survived by two sons: Daryl R. Martin and Duane R. married to Anita Martin, five grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, and three siblings: Mary Lou Sensenig, Jerry Martin and Vernon Martin.

Preceding him in death was a brother Harold Martin.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Bowmanville Mennonite Church, 129 Pleasant Valley Rd., East Earl, PA 17519 with Pastors Tony Witmer and Larry Weber officiating. Interment will be private in the adjoining church cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. If desired, memorials may be sent to Bowmansville Mennonite Church, address above.
