Clyde R. Miller

Clyde R. Miller of Narvon passed away surrounded by his family on May 25, 2015 during in-home hospice care after losing a tough fought battle with metastatic cancer.


He was 69.


Mr. Miller was born in Bart Township, a son of the late Brinton A. and Elizabeth G. Bair Miller.


He was a 1964 graduate of Solanco High School. He was a Vietnam era veteran who served in the Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, Cherry Point, NC. He attained the rank of corporal and performed duties as a motor transport operator and motor vehicle operator. He worked as a material handler at Case New Holland, formerly Sperry New Holland, for almost 45 years before retiring.


He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed riding his Harley. His favorite hobbies were skeet shooting and raising ducks and Silkie chickens. During retirement he enjoyed watching westerns and mysteries on television and spending time with his family.


Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 42 years, Irene Green Miller; one daughter, Carol Ann Miller Bosley of East Earl; two grandchildren, Arnold L. Miller of Narvon, and Chantell M. Miller of East Earl; three step-children, Paul Green of Narvon, Diane McLemore of Lancaster and Michelle McLemore of Harrisburg; six step-grandchildren, Jerome McLemore of Narvon, Jose G. Aenscio of Lancaster, Bertha S. Aenscio of Lancaster, Marscil Aenscio of Lancaster, Tyler James Millisock of Ephrata and Danisha Millisock of Ephrata; one great-granddaughter Mariah McLemore; three siblings, Vera Mae, wife of James Lewis of Sicklerville, NJ, Marian, wife of Fred Tribitt of Turnersville, NJ, and Pauline, wife of Albert Sidoine of Quarryville; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by one step-granddaughter, Marissa McLemore. Seven siblings are also deceased, Claude Gomez, Josef Gomez, Thelmus “Pete” Miller, Erma Miller Riggins, Brinton “Roy” Miller, Clarence Miller, and Thelma Miller.


Services will be held from the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland on Friday, May 29 at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 9 – 10 a.m. Online condolences may be posted at www.groffeckenroth.com.
