Dale B. Mellinger

Dale B. Mellinger, 84, of Denver, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

He was the husband of Drema L. Mentz Pavelsich Mellinger. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of the late Elmer B. and Kathryn Mae Weaver Mellinger.

Dale worked 40 years at Ephrata Diamond Spring Water as a sales/delivery driver retiring in 2003. Following his retirement, he worked 14 years in the Gift Shop at Shady Maple. He was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and had formerly attend St. John Center Lutheran Church and the Worship Center.

He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, horse racing, gardening and dancing. However, his greatest enjoyment in his life was the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving besides his wife are six children, Vicky L. wife of Douglas Hensel of Denver, Robert L. husband of Jane (Brown) Mellinger of Narvon, Anthony D. Mellinger companion of Jennifer Pacana of Willow Street, Lori wife of Daniel Hurst of East Earl, Cindy L. Mellinger domestic partner of Johannes “John” Stell of Manchester, NJ, and Tonya wife Craig Sweater of Evergreen, CO; 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth L. Frankhouser Mellinger, a daughter, Alice Ann Frankhosuer, and by siblings, Gloria Spittler, Robert E. Mellinger, Joyce L. Aument.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 8, at 10:30 A.M. at the Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA. Interment in the Terre Hill Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Groff High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland, PA and at the church on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service.
