David H. Burkholder

David H. Burkholder, 84, of 582 N. Railroad Ave., New Holland, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born in Earl Twp., he was the son of the late David Z. and Lizzie (Horning) Burkholder. His wife, Bertha W. (Horst) Burkholder, died March 17, 1993.

David was a farmer and a member of the New Holland Old Order Mennonite Church.

Surviving is a son, Paul H., married to Mary Ann (Newswanger) Burkholder of New Holland; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Eva Zimmerman of Ephrata, and Katie, married to Rufus Martin of Mifflinburg.

Preceding him in death are four brothers, Moses, Levi, Weaver, and Daniel; and six sisters, Annie Martin, Lizzie Leinbach, Maria Reiff, Martha Hoover, Lydia Leinbach, and Ida Shirk.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 20 at 9 am at the late home with further services at 9:30 am at the New Holland Old Order Mennonite Church with the Bishop Titus H. Martin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be held at the late home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
