David E. Hanlon, 77, of Birdsboro, died Tuesday, February 7 at Reading Hospital. His wife Audrey A. (Arbo) Hanlon survives. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on April 2. Born in Woburn, MA, he was the son of the late W. Ernest and Alma (Riker) Hanlon. David was a pilot in the United States Air Force for 22 years, retiring in 1978. He then served as a corporate pilot for several companies including General Battery, Meridian Bank, and Millionaire. He was a member of Hopewell Christian Fellowship and the Morgantown Flying Club. He was a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital, Reading. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children: Peter married to Katie Hanlon, West Point, NY; Pamela Hanlon, Seattle, WA; Cathleen Hanlon and her companion Enzo Paoletti, Tupper Lake, NY; and Mark married to Diane Hanlon, Schwenksville, PA; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and three sisters: Nancy Thomas, Judy Hanlon, and Susan Sullivan. His funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 10 at 10 AM at Hopewell Christian Fellowship, 2286 Hopewell Rd., Elverson, PA 19520 with Pastors Mark Kraybill and John Szymanski officiating. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Thursday from 6 8 PM. There will be no viewing prior to the funeral on Friday.
