David E. Hostetler

David E. Hostetler, age 84, died at the home of his son Marc Hostetler on Sept. 24, 2014, in Reinholds, PA.

David was born on Oct. 27, 1929 to Emerson and Luella (Lehman) Hostetler in Orrville, OH, and lived in Ohio, Virginia, Indiana, Brazil, New York, and Pennsylvania. His work was dedicated to the Mennonite Church as pastor, missionary with Mennonite Board of Missions (Elkhart, IN), journalist and editor of Mennonite publications with Mennonite Publishing House (Scottdale, PA), and Laurelville Mennonite Church Center (Mt. Pleasant, PA) program director. David also served as overseer to Mennonite congregations in Pennsylvania.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Rosanna (Yoder) Hostetler, Reinholds, PA; children, D. Michael Hostetler, Kitchener, ON; J. Marcos Hostetler, Reinholds, PA; James D. Hostetler, Goshen, IN; Marcella Hostetler, Lancaster, PA; and Monica Harnish, Bluffton, OH; 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Anne Fath, Dalton, OH; John Hostetler, Evensville, TN; Ron Hostetler, Orrville, OH; Jep Hostetler, Goshen, IN; Dan Hostetler, Dalton, OH; and Jayne Coffy, Wooster, OH.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, 3:00 p.m. at Scottdale Mennonite Church in Scottdale, PA.
