David Mark Hurst

David Mark Hurst, 87, of Narvon, formerly of Bowmansville, died Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center. His wife of 63 years, Katherine Anne (Halsey) Hurst, survives.

Born in Bowmansville, he was the son of the late David B. and Esther (Weaver) Hurst.

Mark had last worked in sales for Zook Molasses. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.

He was a member of Pine Grove Church, Bowmansville where he served Chairman of the Church Council and as an usher.

He served in the U. S. Navy from 1956-1960.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Beth Anne Hurst married to James “Mitchell” MacDonald, Ipswich, MA, two grandchildren: Samuel Hurst MacDonald and Alice Hurst MacDonald, and a sister Evelyn married to James Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his son, David C. Hurst and a sister, Eileen Horst.

His funeral will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove Church, 1194 Reading Rd., Bowmansville. A viewing will be held at the church on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. The Eckenroth Home for Funerals, Terre Hill, is honored to serve the Hurst family.
