David N. Martin

David N. Martin, 76, of New Holland, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born in East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late Rufus and Katie (Nolt) Martin. He was married 52 years on November 8 to Edna (Nolt) Martin.

David was a farmer most of his life and a member of the New Holland Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, James S. Martin of Mountville, Timothy L., married to Kristi (Crawford) Martin of New Holland, Gerald S. Martin of Brownstown, H. Thomas, married to Heather (Downes) Martin of Ridgley, MD, and Walter W. Martin of New Holland; seven grandchildren; a great granddaughter; five brothers and a sister, Levi, married to Lydia (Martin) Martin of Mifflinburg, Rufus, married to Katie (Burkholder) Martin of Mifflinburg, Emma Martin, wife of the late Warren Martin of Leola, John, married to Catherine (Leinbach) Martin of Missouri, Henry, married to Vera (Ramer) Martin of Iowa, and Aaron, married to Nancy (Rohrer) Martin of Missouri.

Preceding him in death is a brother Ammon Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 13 at 8:45 am at the home of Ervin Leid, 159 Meadow Creek Road, New Holland with further services at 9:30 am at the New Holland Mennonite Church with the Bishop Titus H. Martin officiating. Viewing will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Ervin Leid home. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland.
